speed sensor
Explain that the Bently Nevada Seismoprobe speed sensor system is designed to measure absolute (relative to free space) bearing housing, housing, or structural vibration. The two-wire system consists of sensors and appropriate cables. The Seismoprobe speed sensor series is a two-wire design using dynamic coil technology. It provides a voltage output proportional to the vibration speed of the sensor. Compared with the solid state speed sensor, the moving coil sensor is less sensitive to shock or pulse excitation. The solid state speed sensor itself is an accelerometer with embedded integrated electronic devices. Dynamic coil transducer is not sensitive to shock or pulse excitation, which is a good choice for some applications. Because they do not require an external power supply, they are convenient for portable measurement applications. For most installations, Bently Nevada's Velomitor speed sensor family uses solid-state technology to provide improved performance and robustness for casing speed measurement applications. L 9200 and 74712 Seismoprobe Speed Sensor Data Sheet Bently Nevada Mechanical Condition Monitoring Available Types There are two types of Seismoprobe speed sensors available: L 9200:9200 is a two-wire sensor that is suitable for continuous monitoring or regular measurement with test or diagnostic instruments. When ordered with the integrated cable option, the 9200 has excellent corrosion resistance and requires no additional protection. L 74712:74712 is the high-temperature version of 9200.

Interconnect cables can be used to connect 9200 and 74712 sensors to other instruments. These cables are available in various lengths, with or without stainless steel armor. When ordering the 9200 and 74712 Seismoprobe speed sensors, a lead time of approximately six (6) weeks is expected. Lead times may vary depending on component availability and configuration. Please contact your local Bently Nevada representative for the estimated delivery time for your specific order. Measurement enclosure for sensor placementIf you are measuring the machine enclosure to determine the placement of the sensor, consider the type of measurement you want to obtain. Most common machine failures, such as imbalance or misalignment, originate in the rotor and usually result in increased rotor vibration. If the 330,500 Velomitor output is integrated to measure displacement, electrical noise from the interference and sensor circuits will be amplified. Noise will degrade the performance of the 330500 transducer and produce inaccurate displacement data. In order to obtain high-quality data, it is planned to position the sensor in a position that can best detect machine vibration through the bearing housing or casing. Select a location, ground, and shield to maximize amplitude and frequency response and reduce data that does not represent actual machine vibration. Bently Nevada provides engineering services to determine the best location to place the sensor. If necessary, we can also install sensors.
