If transport damage is obvious
Make a claim to the carrier and submit a copy to Bentley Nevada. 1.2 Handling and Storage Precautions The circuit board contains equipment that is easily damaged when exposed to static electricity. Damage caused by obvious improper operation of the circuit board will void the warranty. To avoid damage, observe the following precautions. When the module is removed from the rack, the application alerts host communication and rack configuration functions will be lost. ? Do not discharge static electricity onto the circuit board. Avoid using tools or programs that may damage the circuit board by static electricity. Some possible causes include ungrounded soldering irons, non-conductive plastics, and similar materials. ? Before handling or maintaining printed circuit boards, personnel must be grounded with a suitable grounding strap (such as 3M Velostat No.2060). ? Transport and store circuit boards in conductive bags or foil. ? Be extra careful in dry weather. A relative humidity of less than 30% will increase the accumulation of static electricity on any surface. ? When performed correctly, the module can be installed in or removed from the rack when the rack is powered up. Refer to the Rack Installation and Maintenance Manual (part number 129766-01) for the correct procedure. 1.3 Disposal Statement Customers and third parties who control the product at the end of its life or use are solely responsible for the correct disposal of the product.
